November 17

Well, you haven't heard from me in a long time. I know some of the students do use the blog in addition to their agendas, so I apologize and will be more regular about posting information.

First, I appreciate the talks with those who came to parent/teacher interviews. I am available to talk over the phone or to arrange a meeting at another time for those who were not able to make it.

Secondly we are still collecting some items that were sent home and need to be returned. Some students still do not have their MS Readathon envelope forms in. These are past due. If the envelope can't be found, could you send a note indicating this. The forms are needed back so that there is a conclusion to the fund-raiser regardless if money was collected or not. The other form needed is the personal goal sheet that each student received at the time of Parent/Teacher interviews. We would like students and parents to discuss the form, chose 1 goal, and return it to school. We will then photocopy it and return the orginal home so both home and school can work successfully towards achieving this goal.

Homework for the weekend: Social Studies - write the four definitions we have covered so far in the unit and write two or three ideas in answer to each of the 3 main questions on which we will be basing our Alberta inquiry.(This needs to be the student's knowledge and insight thus far.) Hello everyone. I hope you all had a great weekend.

They will have a burger lunch at the school afterward. The Junior High volleyball students have challenged the teachers to a game in the afternoon. There is also pizza lunch on Wednesday, Sept 27.

Considering homework, those students who have not finished the questions for Spelling Unit 2 should have handed them in Monday morning.

The Social Studies quiz on mapping which we had discussed as being on Tuesday is moved to Wednesday, Sept 27. Please review the mapping booklet in regards to the study sheet handed out last week (basically, the provinces and territories of Canada, oceans, map directions, lines of latitude and meridians of longitude).
