Language Arts September 30
With the beginning of a new month, so are book reports. Each student is required to complete one book report a month based on the book he/she read at his/her appropriate reading level. We will also be starting a program (Mr.Hakstol and I, among other teachers) called 'Camp Read well' which all students will be having a letter come home sometime this week. I will also be giving out spelling lists for one month at a time, instead of weekly, as to better prepare the students for their weekly spelling test. Please look for these in your child's agenda.
Social Studies September 30
Students will have a final test on 'Mapping Skills' on Friday. In their social studies binder they have all copied down what is required of them on the test which are items such as: knowing the 7 continents, terminology- equator, southern hemisphere, North pole, Prime merdian, grasslands, territories, longitude, & latitude, drawing and labeling a compass, and labeling 5 provinces, 2 territories, and 5 capitals on a Canadian Map. We will start a new unit on 'Sense of the Land' next week.

math Sept. 16th #2
A math worksheet is being handed back to the students to take home. Some may need additional help with it to fix them.
They are putting the pattern on the chart and then counting the number of times both things happen.
Some students are having difficulty getting the patterns down. Maybe different colors would help.
Others have forgotten to answer the question of how many times.
Please have them see me if they need additional help.

Language Arts
Hi students and parents:
The first spelling test has been completed and marked and should be coming home in your child's agenda. I will be hopefully adding either a link or terminology page to this site to further assist both students and parents with language arts terms. The grade 4 class also wrote a letter to 'Theo Tams' last week and it is in the mail, so we are all anxiously waiting for a return letter! Thanks.
