Thursday Sept. 28th

Math - Students are to complete the activity in their worksheet booklet to the end of page 99 and then create a super stumper type question to challenge their classmates. Their questions should be on ordering numbers or choosing which one is greatest from a group of numbers.

This should be done by Monday as the Terry Fox Run will cause us to miss our regular Math class.

Wednesday, Sept. 27

Just a little note to remind you all about the opening school mass at St. Ambrose Church tomorrow at 9:00 a.m.
Also the Terry Fox pledge forms are due tomorrow morning.
Spelling Unit 3 will probably be due on Monday as we did not have too much classtime to work on it today and we will not have L.A. tomorrow. Hopefully, the students will be able to focus on Friday, before the run, to have their spelling test AND finish their unit questions.

Tuesday, September 26

Social Studies - We will be having a quiz on mapping tomorrow. Know the location of provinces and territories in Canada, the oceans surrounding it, directions using a compass rose, and some about latitude and longitude. Please bring the 'Mapping' booklets back to school on Wednesday.
We have pizza lunch tomorrow as well for those who ordered previously.

On Thursday we have our Opening School Mass at 9:00. Everyone is invited to attend.
Students who haven't brought their comic figures for art yet, are asked to do it for Thursday.
Thursday is also the day Terry Fox pledge sheets are due. Regardless if pledges were being collected or not, the forms are still needed.

On Friday we have our Terry Fox Run at 10:30. All students will be participating. A free burger lunch will be provided for all students afterwards. Junior High girls will be taking on the teachers in a volleyball match after lunch. All the students will be in the gym to cheer on their favorite team (hopefully the teachers?).
Before the run we will still have our Unit 3 Spelling test.

Have a good evening.

22 September 2006

Welcome

Hello everyone. I hope you all had a great weekend.

Mr. Hakstol has been sending messages to the Grade 4 students regarding math and science. This is the first entry I've made. I'm excited to use this way to communicate.

This upcoming week we have some special events. On Thursday, Sept. 28 we celebrate the opening school mass at St. Ambrose Church at 9:00 a.m. Everyone is invited to attend. On Friday, Sept. 29, we will be having our Terry Fox Run down 23rd Ave. beginning at 10:30 a.m. The students will all participate in the run with their family groups. They will have a burger lunch at the school afterward. The Junior High volleyball students have challenged the teachers to a game in the afternoon. There is also pizza lunch on Wednesday, Sept 27.

Considering homework, those students who have not finished the questions for Spelling Unit 2 should have handed them in Monday morning.

The Social Studies quiz on mapping which we had discussed as being on Tuesday is moved to Wednesday, Sept 27. Please review the mapping booklet in regards to the study sheet handed out last week (basically, the provinces and territories of Canada, oceans, map directions, lines of latitude and meridians of longitude).

The students are still asked to bring cartoon characters for Thursday's art classes.

Thank you,

Mrs. Angela Lohues
